cosplay update!
backup corset: found. I owe my soul to a new friend I made recently. I will work on seeing if I can get my money back from the seller. got my car back from the mechanic yesterday so transportation is not an issue. last thing left: the jacket and corset. Robert (yes he has a name) has told me that both are finished. He lies sometimes, but assuming that is true, tomorrow I should have both fitted and ready. I don’t personally believe in a god or a higher being, but to those following that do: please pray. preferably sacrifice small animals, if that’s what your religion is into. because so help me if this man flakes out on me I will cut his throat.
all that said, almost ready for PRCC this weekend. I’m really excited to go, cosplay or not!
cosplay update.
So! Skirt for the cosplay is done. I’ve got nearly all the makeup, and about 80% of my technique down. I only need: a coral-ish blush (maybe), darker brown eyeliner, and darker concealer because my under eyes are stubborn and they’re genetic, not from lack of sleep (no seriously I swear they’ve been part of my face since I was like eight). Bestie took the measurements for the jacket, and will take measurements for the corset when he does jacket and when he figures out how to make a corset. As for my hair, no wig, since I sorta spoiled myself something about the character, though not enough to spoil the why (multiple versions of her? do not know). Basically, I’m considering leaving it lose, or using the character’s hairstyle from her other costume to make it an amalgamation.
Of course, I’ve been looking up corsets online, as backup mostly, and I’ve been having a hard time finding first a white, over the bust, sleeveless corset that comes close to what I’m looking for, and even worse luck finding a website that will sell it (eBay and Amazon haven’t been very helpful, and looking there will have to wait till either tomorrow night after my second final, or Tuesday when I go to the library to continue prepping for third and last final. So I guess if anyone’s reading this knows of a decent website or finds a listing (that can ship to Puerto Rico and preferably ships from the US to cut down shipping time), I’d be much obliged.
So this might really happen guys! I’m really looking forward to this. :)

second #makeup test for the #cosplay went much better. I just need a darker eyeliner and an eyelash curler and I’m ready to go 😃
Studying? No, makeup practice. I don’t know if this is anywhere near the character I’m cosplaying as, or if I managed a bigger eye effect. But hey it looks good! Looks better in person, I kinda started when the sun started setting so picture quality is pretty meh.
lip gloss and lipstick was the only thing I forgot today but I’ll get that next paycheck. this was fun!

so I ordered these babes yesterday. My guess is that I should get ‘em like next week or week after. not as cheap as I would’ve liked, but there are more expensive boots out there, and this is pretty close to the cosplay itself anyway. looking for simpler boots didn’t lead me to anything that would look right, so.
tomorrow I’ll be sacrificing study time to go makeup shopping, and order contact lenses because Walgreens sells them cheap but won’t ship here. hopefully there won’t be a fuss to order just one box, which is all I want, both my eyes have the same prescription anyway. as for makeup, my budget’s not very big but I’ve just finished looking up suggestions on Google so I know more or less what I’m getting. I’ll look in Sephora and MAC first so I can cry at makeup I can’t afford then probs go to Walgreens.
and that idiot is going to start sewing friday. no he’s not an idiot I’m not mad anymore it’s tough love so I have no idea how finals are going to go for me, but hey if it all crashes and burns, from the looks of it I’ll at least have my second PRCC and my first cosplay to look forward to.
or I’ll have Victorian-era style boots and makeup I might not use if fashion designer idiot best friend bails on me. I should tell him I bought the boots so he knows I’m at least serious.
…cosplay update!
Alright guys! I’ve been keeping things quiet because of a lot of uncertainty on my part. But, barring of course my best friend (and sewer and designer) bailing on me, I am happy to say I will be cosplaying for the first time this year at PRCC! :) It won’t be either as Barbara Gordon’s New 52 Batgirl or as Miranda Lawson from Mass Effect, owing both ideas to have complexities that would take more time than the month we have left. But it will be a character from a popular video game.
If it didn’t pan out, I do plan on having a great time anyway (already have my two day pass, I hope to score one of the 2000 limited edition passes!) and taking some great amateur pictures, seeing as the very awesome Anthony Misiano is visiting, and the local circuit has amazing cosplayers in their own right, such as my lovely friend Lola (Facebook and Tumblr)!

cosplay non update
Welp.
I mean, no money, no time, and bestie might be brilliant sewing but he’s also a scatterbrain. Sooo. I dot think I can make anything work for this year. Not Batgirl or Miranda Lawson. I’m really sad and disappointed, I wish I could’ve gotten something together. Or that PRCC were in July, it’d give me a couple months after finals to do something.

Yes, I promised a teaser for my first cosplay (Greaser/Rockabilly Batgirl) this month. But I can’t budget the money to get started. Never mind that I want to mix in a second cosplay (Miranda Lawson) too.
I’m kinda disappointed in myself that I can’t get this going because of something like money.
Greaser/Rockabilly Batgirl! As designed by Denis Medri I know, looks very simple. But actually not really! The cowl is actually like a pilot biker cap with ears on the side, which will look awesome if I can get that right!
So New 52 Batgirl will have to be another year. My cosplay debut for PRCC2013 will be this. Look forward to the first teaser (hopefully January)!
