I’m giving it till Thursday, but that corset’s a lost cause. It’s just really weird. I don’t think it’s been stolen. If it were, the status would’ve been updated long ago saying it was delivered at the least. It’s not like the status will update saying “someone stole it”. The status just hasn’t been updated since Sunday. And the location is still N/A.

But the cosplay isn’t a lost cause. Apparently the jacket and skirt are done or almost done. I’m just going to have to get creative. Car in the shop + lots of rain this week = de la manga productions.

Word of advice: go with one with automatic locks. I know it’s more expensive, but it brings peace of mind. It freaks me the fuck out every time I’m getting in my car and it’s late or I’m alone and I fumble getting the key in the lock.

Yeah, security is something I’m really concerned about. After seeing prices in person, I spent some time at work looking up lists and review compilations and whatnot. My dad likes the Yaris, but when I compare it to the Fiesta, the other model I’ve narrowed it down to, I dunno. Asides that the Yaris seems to be mediocre in terms of steering and braking compared to the Fiesta, it’s also the model that thieves love to steal. I mean, if a thief wants to steal the car they will no matter what model, but the Yaris is a prime target. But I do need to weigh overall cost versus what I should include in it, but automatic locks seems good to consider.

But, seeing as my mom actually liked the idea, like actually liked it and not pretend like and bitch at my dad, and he called today to say we’d go beginning of June now. So I’ll test drive them then. And keep weighing the pros and cons. I’m being ultra meticulous.

I appreciate the concern of my classmate, but I’m not very happy with his paternalism. If I want to leave this library at 3 or 4 in the fucking morning because I want to be damn sure I wrapped up my studying properly, with no rush, I will fucking leave at 3 or 4 in the morning. First, I don’t even hear that stuff from my dad. He knows I’m an adult and I’ll make my own decisions. Second, I lived here in the city for four years before getting a car, so that was four years of bus and train and walking at all hours. Third, someone tried to mug me in broad daylight. So if I’m going to be so super concerned about my safety I should be hiding on the covers a long ass time ago. If someone wants to try mugging me again or raping me (and trust me, operative word here is try), it’ll happen whether it’s 3am or 3pm.

It’s his fault I’m behind anyway he keeps asking me questions godddammit

I went car browsing with my dad today. It was actually really nice, I’ve narrowed it down to two models just about. And a third one, but it’s a really really distant third. Anyhow, my dad wants to wait till July cuz of some money he’s gonna get? To help with the down payment. I told him let’s compromise: we wait till then, if he has that money great let’s go. If not, great let’s go, and when he gets it I’ll put it towards the principal of what I owe.

What I thought would be harder would be telling my mom. Like no I don’t live with her, haven’t in years, but she’s crazy sometimes. When I bought my first used car in 2009 she didn’t speak to me for three months. Anyway I wanted to avoid that so I called and laid it out to her. Like look, my current car, I love it, and I love that they gave it to me as a gift. But I told her that I felt that, when I crunched numbers on my budget, expenses and my paychecks, I felt that what I didn’t spend on a monthly loan payments, was actually going to repairs and maintenance for things that keep breaking (like the alternator, the power steering tube, and I’ve replaced the shock absorbers like three times too and once I hit a hole they start sounding again).

I also said that I felt that, since I’m almost 26, I should look into building my credit, and since I didn’t think a credit card was the best choice for me right now, I thought maybe investing it on a good, compact economy car would be better. And the idea of a loan did make me nervous and I did think of what ifs, like losing my job, it doesn’t matter because I could be at the top and at the peak and something could happen that I can’t pay whatever car I have or house.

So she listened and agreed, and said that if I make the choice that it’s perfectly fine, as long as I feel I can make payments. Which I assured why I was going for a compact economy model to keep payments as low as I can, in the $200 area. But I was really happy to hear support from her. Though she, along with a friend helping me contrast models, think I shouldn’t be THAT no frill, but the problem is that going an ever slight step above, like economy model but with cool shit, would probably make payments more than I’d like. But now I keep thinking about it.

Anyway, I’ll give it more serious thought after tomorrow. And my corset is off the grid. I don’t know what I’ll do. I don’t have the car back, so going to the post office or going last minute corset shopping is almost if not actually impossible. I’ll figure this out Wednesday, back to studying.
